Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) was a Dutch Post Impressionist painter. He suffered from psychotic episodes and the art helped him to stay balanced.His friendship with the French Painter Gauguin, ended after he threatened him with a razor, and in a rage, cut off his own ear.
